Here is a position to consider in the pro-life and pro-choice opposing views. First, I share this is not a political statement or meant to be offensive in any way. It is just a concept that came to me one morning when I was pondering about what to write. It seems to happen that way, a thought or feeling alights on me and I guess it is my job to put some conceptual language around it. Here is what I have for now and I have no doubt I will revisit it in the future as the concept evolves.
It is important to note up front that a pro-choice or pro-life approach is not only a direct response to abortion. Abortion is an action to achieve an outcome based on the forethought of defining a predicament in daily living. The decision whether choosing action to proceed or not is what I believe encompasses the pro-life or pro-choice perspective.
I would like to offer another perspective I call pro-soul. Whether religious or spiritual or neither, there has been an accepting concept relevant to some part of human, animal, plant, or mineral that is beyond the physical fibers of a living being. It does not have to be referred to as soul it can be energy, force, or other beliefs, however, it is not believed to be of this material world. Many believe it is an element that lives on beyond death of the body. Again, it does not have to be a religious or spiritual belief since energy and force also relate greatly to science.
With these basic assumptions and not defining any specific position such as pro-life and pro-choice, there is room for a position of pro-soul. Soul is an energy which has an existence of its own, call it etheric or otherworldly, it has a presence in the basic life of all sentient beings.
It does not die but has a purpose of its own. One might consider the reference to soul purpose; an intention set to discover and follow along a life path. Asking, “What is my Soul purpose?” Not accidentally interchangeable with sole purpose, meaning the one and only. Our one and only purpose for being present at a given time in a life we mostly control and direct. Big responsibility!
When does a soul become present in an unborn child? Or does it even become present before a child is born? A child is created through a very physical and many times random and accidental process. No planning, no consent, a violent act, poor judgement, or forced cultural custom, these can be true or there can be a very committed and planned intention to have a child to love and provide guidance to for a lifetime. It is a soul intention for those consenting adults to be the vessel and the contributor to bringing an already loved and supported child into life. This is the expected process and billions of times it has been the truth on the Earth. However, there probably is not an accurate statistic about those first mentioned incidents of pregnancies because much of those truths are hidden, denied, or committed under the radar to be unknown.
As a truth seeker and spiritual warrior, I question how much actual force or power we grant the soul and its sole purpose in all these situations. Considering pro-soul from the perspective of a child entering the earthly plane is not that big of a leap from the control conditions put upon a human being as a young child. Meaning as if the parents or ruling government have control over its life. Always interesting since at the young age of 18 this young human is expected to be independent and capable of making their own decisions and being functioning individuals of society. Most parents will tell you that is not usually the case. Much more guidance and support might be needed past the age of 18. Back to control, not a friendly word from my personal perspective as it might not be for many of you. However, control is exactly what the laws and expectations are for a newly formed human being safely tucked away in a woman’s womb. It must be controlled to be safe. My premise is a soul might believe differently.
I find it very interesting that given a life’s journey, whether 90 years or 25 years, an accepting culture is to allow that being to acquiesce to its soul journey and either return to whence it came or die along with the physical body. I am not here to argue the concept of what happens after the body dies. Clearly that is an entirely different topic and maybe someday I will get around to sharing my understanding. So, for now I am offering some assumptions.
Let us say the soul returns to the source from which it came. It has completed its purpose and returns for replenishing, learning, resting, or seeking a new purpose to bring to earth and engage. Whatever that next phase is, there is the basis of the survival of the soul energy to evolve along its journey. This premise requires some level of trust and acceptance of the assumptions might be true. Now this is not for the faint of the traditional heart, however, the Divinely One audience is usually seeking new alternatives to understanding daily life inquiries and challenges.
By the above principle, the soul energy returns to whence it came having completed its purpose. Maybe it’s purpose was to offer a potential mother and family the experience of living with a decision made at undoubtedly a challenging time and how that decision will influence the lives of the potential mother, father, siblings present or those to come, and everything they do to express known or unknown actions related to the decision not to allow the physical being to be born and evolve. There can be very enlightened sharing with humanity about how to find better solutions to unplanned births or an educational program evolved by women and families who have survived decisions to do what they believe is best for all concerned in the moment. The possibility the soul energy is energetically prompting the situation to complete its purpose and not enter fully into humanity at the time is a reasonable probability. Many times, no one else ever knows there was an ended pregnancy, and the potential mother carries that secret all alone. Mostly that happens when the culture pushes shame and guilt upon those women who feel there was no other choice and the decision is not as much about her life, but the desire to give a fragile energy a fairer chance to become its sole purpose. This is the premise of the soul chose never to be born into a fully functioning human being at the time. That was not its purpose and the woman realizes from the experience to have an even greater respect for human life and conveys that understanding along her journey to share with humanity, especially those closest to her. Taking this concept one step further up the spiritual All is One path, the potential mother or other potential family member may have an unknown soul agreement for this situation to provide a higher consciousness outcome to all souls involved. I believe it is not the responsibility of humanity to question or control the intention of Divine Order. Supporting the higher intentions through allowing and accepting, and acquiescing to Divine guidance is the “sole” responsibility bestowed upon humanity.
This opinion and observation from the author comes through research with women sharing their decisions, personal understanding about soul infused life, death and dying, and the perspective that energy is the form of all things and beings. If soul is energy, there is no confirmation it must live in a human being. It can return to the source where all energy is created and continue to exist. If the existence of the perceived life within a womb is definitively the existence of soul, there can be no death of it. Soul does not die. It moves on to the next phase of existence in its flow, either returning to earth as a new life forming being, or further into the energy progression unknown to the human domain at the time.
We can only hope there will be many opportunities for the soul energy to live into its best potential either here on earth or some other realm of energy field. What I believe is a soul energy will always find its way to express its purpose, and no decision on the part of humanity will terminate its existence or its purpose.
A next question here might be, “Does soul energy get repurposed along its journey when needed as a benefit to the overall good of the Cosmos?”
I welcome your comments and remind the reader a political statement is not being made. However, a Spiritual perspective might be a purpose of this posting.
